At the end of primary school, pupils should:

- Acquire competent listening. speaking, reading and writing skills in English so as to enable them to use the language effectively.
- Acquire proficiency in their chosen mother tongue at a level that complements their ability.
- Acquire numeracy and scientific knowledge and skills to enable them to analyze, computer and solve problems.
- Be inculcated with sound moral values, desirable work ethics and respect for other people, races, religions and ways of life.
- Acquire healthy habits to lead a physically fit and an emotionally stable life.
